Frequently asked questions about the Stripe payment gateway
Do you charge any commission or ticketing fees for each event or each registration?
We do not add any commission fees for your events or your attendee registrations which means that you keep more funds from each registration. Connect your account from Stripe to Event Smart and receive payments directly to your Stripe merchant account as your attendees register and pay for their event registrations.
I don’t have a business or I’m raising funds for a charity or nonprofit. Can I still use Stripe?
Yes! You can sign up for a Stripe merchant account as a sole proprietor. This will let you receive credit card payments from event registrations or ticket sales.
I’m located in Europe. How does Stripe handle Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)?
We’ve updated our Stripe payment gateway to add support for Stripe Elements. Stripe Elements is now the default integration option for event organizers and it supports Strong Customer Authentication.
How can I set up a recurring payment, payment plan, or a subscription through Stripe?
Recurring payments, payment plans, or subscriptions are not currently supported in the Stripe feature upgrade. When an attendee pays for their event registration with Stripe, they pay up front so, you receive your funds right away.
